Matugga Distillers is a Black-owned, family-run artisanal rum distillery based in Livingston, producing award-winning small-batch rums that celebrates African and Caribbean heritage blended with Scottish distilling craftsmanship.
Founded by Paul (Ugandan-born) and Jacine (with Jamaican roots) Rutasikwa, their portfolio includes premium unaged, spiced, and cask-aged rums, as well as ready-to-drink cocktails.
Passionate about provenance and craftsmanship, Matugga is committed to sustainable, locally rooted production. Matugga is also a proud advocate for diversity in the spirits industry and offers community-focused distillery experiences and educational programmes, including tours, rum masterclasses and a craft rum school.
